ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD

[[1Co 15:58]] KJV Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The Apostle Paul, in concluding his letter to the believers in Corinth, challenges us to do the one most important thing – “always abound in the work of the LORD.” God wants you to ALWAYS (not some of the time, but all of the time) abound in the work of the LORD.

Here, the work of the LORD refers to the work of the ministry and not the eternal will or eternal plan of God. We must abound in the work of the ministry. God wants us to be fully involved in the work of the ministry. In other words, the work of the ministry must be our life’s work!

The message bible puts it this way, “With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort” (MSG). God wants us to throw ourselves into the work of the Master. Glory to God!

How do you throw yourself into the work of the ministry? How do you abound in the work of the LORD? The answer is clear; by not holding back. Give everything and don’t hold back. Firstly, give your life! Work for God literally. Serve. You must be busy doing something in the ministry. Burry your very life in the work of God.

Secondly, give your money to push the work of the ministry. In fact, the next verse after 1Cor 15:58 begins in chapter 16 by talking about the collections or offerings taken to help the work of the ministry. Letting you know that your money must push the gospel. When we do, the Bible promises us that our labour will not be in vain. Your giving without fail brings in the blessing! Hallelujah

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for teaching me your word. Thank you also for the opportunity to partner and give to support your work. And I thank you in advance for the blessing. Glory!
