ACCESS INTO PROSPERITY

[[Pro 3:9,10]] KJV Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

  • So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Prosperity is God’s idea and desire for us. The Psalmist said the LORD takes “pleasure in the prosperity of His servants “(Ps 35:27). God is excited when you have more money and happiness. 3John says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3Jh 1:2). God’s highest desire is that you prosper and live in health.

Prosperity, however, is not something every must have. The reason is because it can destroy. A man must, therefore, cultivate some disciplines before he walks in it. This is why even though it’s God’s idea and desire for us to prosper, He does not just rain it on us. We must access it.

In our opening text, God shows us how to access prosperity. He shows us that our accounts can be filled with plenty and overflow. The key is only one; honour the LORD with your substance. And substance here means money. Even though many have abused the principle of giving and sowing, it still remains God’s way of lavishing prosperity on His servants.

The key word in our opening text is “HONOUR.” Honour the LORD with your substance. Don’t just give; honour God with it. This means WHAT you give and HOW you give to God is what decides everything. Jesus said, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” *(Luke 6:38).

Thank God for prayer and holiness. Faithfulness is also an awesome virtue, but giving is what pipes you into God’s unlimited resources. Be a giver. Access God’s abundance. And live in plenty. Glory to God!

Prayer:
Father, I receive your word today with meekness. I receive the grace to be a giver. I access prosperity through my giving, honouring you with my substance. And I declare I walk in unlimited abundance in Jesus’ name.
