ACTIVATING OPEN HEAVENS

[[Luk 3:21]] KJV Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

Jesus went to John the Baptist to be baptized. He did this not really because He needed it, but the bible says, “…that He would fulfil all righteousness” (Matt 3:15). All the people came to John to be baptized. As they did, they confessed their sins (Matt 3:6). In the case of Jesus, however, He had to sin to confess. He was sinless. Yet the bible records in the above that He was praying.

Jesus knew the importance of prayer. And He prayed. He attached seriousness to His baptism. He didn’t just enter the Jordan; being baptized, He was praying (Luke 3:21). This year, be deliberate about attaching seriousness to all that you do for the LORD.

Many times, God’s people do not attach the seriousness needed to certain spiritual things. For example, people may come into a worship meeting and never worship: they may never lift their hands to God or bow. They treat the worship meeting anyhow. They fail to realize that no two meetings are the same. They get in the ritual instead of being spiritual. When we cultivate the right attitude, we’ll see amazing results. Many miss their moment of visitation because they don’t recognise it and treat it sacred.

When Jesus entered the Jordan praying, two important things happened: 1. The Heavens opened over Him, and 2. The Holy Ghost descended on Him. Prayer opens the portals of heaven to us. Always come before God with gladness and expectations. Enter His ‘presence’ with an attitude of prayer. Treat everything you do in church sacred. This is how to open the heavens over you and rain down heaven’s goodness on your life.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your word today. I am illuminated. I walk in revelation and make a quality decision to attach importance to my service in church. I walk under open heavens in Jesus’ name.
