ASK AND RECEIVE
[[Joh 16:24]] KJV Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Prayer is an awesome blessing from God. Prayer is simply an almighty God giving audience to a mere man. Prayer is the privilege we have from a great God to hear us and grant us our petition.
Unfortunately, prayer is very laborious for many of God’s people because their approach is wrong. To them prayer is a religious obligation; sometimes God listens and sometimes He does not. Prayer is trial and error to them.
Of cause prayer will be laborious and burdensome if you receive no answer to the prayer. And here is where a lot of God’s people miss it. You see, as a child of God’s your prayers are ordained to receive answers. But you also need to release your faith to receive those answers. It’s God’s responsibility to give, but it’s your responsibility to receive!
In our opening text, Jesus told us not just to ask but to “ASK and RECEIVE.” After asking, you must receive. Many ask and do not receive. Jesus said when we receive after asking “our joy will be full.” God wants you joyful. Again, when you ask, God gives, but not until you release your faith to receive, you cannot enjoy it.
You receive by faith. Faith is an evidence. Faith is a proof. So when you ask, act like you have the answer. Your optical eyes may not see any answer but faith is the evidence of things not seen. In fact, the fact that you’ve not seen it is evidence that you have it: that’s faith. If you act, talk, and liveout your answer by faith, it becomes a physical reality. I see answers in your hands. Receive by faith and your joy will be full. Glory!

Father I thank you for the privilege to be heard by you in prayer. Thank you for your love for me. Am full of joy always. You are my life. Thank you for making me your delight. My life is an unending stream of blessing because of you. I love you Lord.
