JUDGE NOT
[[Rom 14:13]] KJV Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
We are not to judge others. To judge means deciding the fate of someone or something that has been called into question. Many times, Christians are quick to judge others or even one another. And often times our prejudice destroy us ourselves.
Jesus warned us that the measure with which we judge others is exactly what shall be used against us in judgment *(Mat 7:1-3).This means we can become victims of what we judge others of. When we become self-righteous and critical of others, we only expose our hypocrisy. We must always know that we didn’t create anyone and therefore we do not have the right to judge another man’s servant. Paul puts it this way:
[[Rom 14:4]] KJV Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
You see, you don’t judge others because you can’t tell how they’ll end. And God is able to make them stand. Someone may not start out well, notwithstanding, their end may be a totally different story. They may be weak now but God is able to make them stand in the end. And better is the end of a matter than the beginning. So don’t use anyone’s present as a yard stick.
Learn to believe in others in spite of their weaknesses and short comings. Let your words always be filled with grace, inspiring others unto good works. Judging others has never changed anybody. Grace and love on the other hand is what gives people a second chance.
Today make up your mind to inspire someone. Refuse to be critical of others. Judge not so that you will not be judged. Love and believe in others no matter who they are. Allow God to use you to change or correct an attitude in someone. Let your words be saturated with grace.
Prayer:
Dear God, I thank you for your grace at work in me. I accept your love and grace for me. I refuse to be judgmental. I open up myself to be used by you to bless others no matter what they may be in Jesus’ name.
