LIVING SOLD OUT

[[Act 21:13]] KJV Then Paul answered, “What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

At Caesarea, Paul purposed to go to Jerusalem. In the house of Philip, the evangelist, Agabus prophesied about the persecutions the awaits Paul in Jerusalem. Filled with sadness, the brethren wept over Paul. But Paul’s response was just awesome.

Paul contended, “I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” He was ready to die for the name of the Lord Jesus. One time, he protested; “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” *( Gal 6:17). Paul was a die-hard believer of the Lord Jesus.

In the same way, our love for the Master must be sealed with our very lives. Whatever we are not ready to die for, we do not believe. Many perish in perilous countries daily for the name of the Lord. Several martyrs of the faith have matched on into glory. It behoves on us that living in peaceful nations, we must do everything we can to push and advance the gospel. Even at the peril of our very lives, we must overpower those little sins and temptations that so easily beset us for the name of our Lord.

Today, allow the word of God to challenge you to live a life sold-out to the Lord. If others are willing to die for the same faith, we can’t do any better. Let’s live large for the Master. Let’s live all out for the gospel. Let’s live sold out to the Lord Jesus. Glory to God!

Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for your love for me. I make a quality decision today to live, sold out to you, and go through whatever I have to go through to advance the gospel. I live for your glory alone in Jesus’ name.
