STEP IN THE WORD
[[Luk 4:21]] KJV And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus is an amazing personality throughout history. He always had the victory. He was triumphant in all things. He didn’t have any sense of fear or lack. He was never in need. He always prevailed.
I discovered that Jesus had such a victorious life because He knew His place in the word of God. Many times, we know the word but we do not fit in. Jesus didn’t only know the word, He stepped right into it. Often in the New Testament, you’ll find the expression after Jesus did something, “this He did that it may fulfill what was written in…” In order words, He always stepped right into prophecy.
The book of Hebrews said concerning Jesus that He came to do what was written of Him in the volume of God’s word.
[[Heb 10:7]] KJV Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
You see, Jesus found out what was written of Him in the word and He assumed it. We must do same. Get to know what God’s word says about you, your health, job, marriage, ministry, and step into it. Fulfill the word. I do this all the time. I look out for areas in God’s word that’s in alignment with my calling and I step into it.
In our opening text, after Jesus had read the prophecy of Isaiah, He closed the scroll and told the people gathered that “today this book is fulfilled.” In my bible, you’ll find me replace the names of people with mine. For example, where God spoke to Abraham, I’ll cancel his name and put mine there. Abraham is dead. I am here. Abraham’s time is over. It’s my time now. Glory! I came in such a time to fulfill the word. Hallelujah!
Learn to step in the word. Jesus did it and so must you. God used great men like Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Peter, Paul etc. But they’re all gone. All that God has right now is you. It’s your time now. You’re heaven’s only hope. God’s counting on you. So find your place in the word and step into it.
Prayer:
Dear God I thank you for your election of grace. I embrace my calling and fulfill it. I declare that I have a place among the standing in the kingdom. I step into my place in your word bringing glory to your name. Amen.
