THE BLESSING OF SERVICE
[[Heb 6:10]] KJV For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
The ministry is rewarding. Anything we do for God or even for others in the name of God will not go unrewarded. God is faithful. And this is why we must be addict to service and the ministry. In the above, the writer of Hebrews makes it clear that “God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” *(Heb 6:10).
Here, we learn some very important lessons. First of all, God is NOT unrighteous. In other words, everything we do for God will be unmistakably rewarded. Glory to God! The second thing is that our labour must be of love. In other words, love must be our motivation for anything we do for God. You must not serve God because you have to; serve God because YOU LOVE TO. Glory! Always be excited about going to church. Don’t wait for someone to remind you about church. Be ever joyous to go to church. David said, “…I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD” *(Psa 122:1).
Finally, to serve God means to serve others. Our maiden text puts it this way: “…ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” The way they ministered to the Lord was through ministering to the saints. Serving in church in areas like ushering, protocol, children’s ministry, etc is your way of ministering to the Lord. And what you do for God will not go unrewarded. Glory to God! Be glad to serve. It’s rewarding. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Father I thank you for the opportunities to serve in the ministry. I attend to it with diligence and love, giving my best and being a blessing to others in Jesus’ name.
