THE DARK PLACES OF THE EARTH

[[Psa 74:20]] KJV Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

There are dark places on earth. These are places where evil dominates. Such places may even be modern citied but engrossed in spiritual darkness. The above shows us that the dark places of the earth are full of the habitation of cruelty. In other words, evil, suffering, and cruel acts reside there. These are regions in the earth where darkness covers the people.

Ephesians 6:12 makes it clear that spiritual wickedness and ruler of darkness dominate these realms. It’s the place of spiritual darkness and death. Jeremiah understood what it means to live in such places. He lamented; “He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old” *(Lam 3:6).

Countless are trapped in the dark places of the earth. There are nations engulfed in such darkness, where there is no hope. This is why we need to send the gospel of the Lord Jesus everywhere. When we do, the light of the glorious gospel of Jesus will shine in their hearts *(2Co 4:4). Hallelujah!

What those that sit in darkness need is the light of the gospel. The Psalmist explained, “Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron” *(Psa 107:10). But when we take the gospel there, those who sit in darkness will see the great light. Hallelujah! Mathew 4:16 declares; “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.” Glory to God!

The Holy Ghost, through the word, wants to ignite passion in your heart to reach the unreached with the gospel. It was no joke that Jesus said, “Ye are THE light of the world” *(Mat 5:14). You are not a light: you are THE LIGHT. Without you, the entire world will be in darkness. So shine your light. Reach the lost. Preach the gospel to someone today. Glory to God!

Prayer:
Precious Holy Ghost, I adore you for igniting passion in my heart today to reach the lost. As I step out today, cause me to meet people who need to be saved and grant me the boldness and grace to reach them for Jesus.
