THE MYSTERY OF GIVING AND RECEIVING

[[Phi 4:15]] KJV Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Before the Apostle Paul would make the famous statement, ‘My God shall supply all your need…” he first unveiled the mystry of giving and receiving. There is such a thing as giving and receiving, where we only receive because we give. How did Paul know? Because he tells us in Acts 20:35 that Jesus taught it.

This is not transactional but spiritual and faith. There are blessings, miracles, and things that are only received when we release our faith by giving a sacrifice, seed, or offering. Jesus said, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luk 6:38).

Thank God for prayer, praise, worship, and all that we do. But there are dimensions of blessings that are only attainable through the power of giving. The widow of Sarepta’s life was sustained amidst famine because she gave all she had to the man of God by faith. And Jesus talked about it (Luk 4:25,26).

Cornelius’ giving went up to God as a memorial and provoked a heavenly vision that brought salvation to him and his house (Act 10:3,4,31). When Jesus heard that a man had built a church single-handedly, the Bible says, He healed his servant (Luk 7:4-10). There are things that you will only receive through the power of giving. You’ve tried prayer, now try giving!

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for teaching me your word and enlightening me about the mystery of giving and receiving. I engage my faith through giving for a mighty miracle in Jesus’ name
