THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS
[[1Ti 3:16]] KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Godliness means Godness or God-life. The God-life is a mystery. And in the above, Paul unveils this divine mystery to us. Here, he shows us the six great mysteries of the God-life. The first is that GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH. This mystery points to Jesus because He is the word that was God in the beginning and become flesh *(Joh 1:1, 2, 3, 14). Secondly, God was JUSTIFIED IN SPIRIT. This points to Jesus as the only Person who was tempted at all points like anyone, and yet was without sin *(Heb 4:15).
Thirdly, the mystery of Godliness is that God was seen of Angeles. When Jesus was born, Angeles saw His birth and celebrated with singing *(Luk 2:13, 14). Fourth, Paul PREACH CHRIST UNTO THE GENTILES *(Eph 3:8). Five, the Mystery of Godliness is that God would be believed by the world (thus, both Jews and Gentiles). And Jesus was given to the world *(Joh 3:16).
Finally, the mystery of Godliness is the fact the God would be received up into glory, and Jesus, when He arose from the dead was received up into glory *(Acts 1:9). Hallelujah! This leaves one with no doubt that JESUS IS GOD! To say Jesus is a religious leader or one of the prophets is an insult on divinity. Jesus is God. He is the EXACT IMAGE OF GOD, AND THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY! Hallelujah! And He lives in you. Glory!
[[Heb 1:3]] NHEB He is the radiance of his (God’s) glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification for sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Glory! Jesus is the radiance and outshining of the glory of the Godhead. Without Jesus, the Godhead will have no light and glory! Hallelujah! This is a mystery: it’s the mystery of Godliness! JESUS IS GOD! Glory!
Prayer:
Precious Lord Jesus I worship and adore you today. I love you with my life, magnifying you above everything in my life. I worship you my Lord and my God. Hallelujah!
