THE POWER OF CAMPS
[[Luk 24:49]] KJV And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
When God wants to entrust us with precious things, He calls us away from the noise to a place where He can have our full attention. This ‘get aways’ is what is mostly called camp meetings. The world is full of too many distractions. These distractions prevents us grom hearing or distorts the voice of God.
You cannot follow God where there’s too much confusion. The voice of God is in silence. God tell us that “…in quietness …shall be your strength…” (Ish 30:15). This is why we must always take advantage of camp meetings in the local church.
Jesus for instance, always camped with His disciples in a place in the Garden of Gethsemane where only His disciple knew, and all the gospels mentioned it (Matthew 26:36-46, Mark 14:32-42, Luke 22:39-46, and John 18:1-11).
Camp meetings are very important seasons in the life of a believer. You must plan and make time to camp. During such moments, you must cut off yourself from the busyness world. Don’t take your phone along. It has to be you alone, prayer and the word. That’s the place the LORD fills us with power from onhigh.
Prayer:
Thank you LORD for your word. That you for also giving me opportunities for camping. I avail myself for such moments to be equipped and empowered for your work and purposes in Jesus’ name.
