THE POWER OF PRAISE

[[2Ch 20:22]] KJV And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

A coalition of enemy kings came up against Jehoshaphat in battle. When the king heard that these great multitudes were coming against him to battle, he feared (2Ch 20 1-3). Sometimes in life, certain news comes to you, and the next thing is that your heart swells up with fear. What news is trying to put fear in you?

When the king Jehoshaphat inquired of the LORD what to do, the strategy the prophet of God gave him was rather a bizarre one. The prophet told him to make the choir and praise and worship team lead the army in battle. What a way to go to war? What the king didn’t know is that praise in itself is a weapon.

You see, praise is more than just singing and dancing before the LORD. As you praise God, things happen in the realm of the spirit. When the singer leading the army started praising God, the LORD sent an ambushment against the enemies, and they utterly destroyed themselves. Not one enemy survived!

At midnight, Paul and Silas also praise and sung to the LORD while in prison, and the foundation of the prison gates was shaken, and all the prison gates were opened (Act 16:25,26). Praise will do what prayer can not do. The reason is because He is the God “….that inhabitest the praises…(Psa 22:3). When you praise Him, He comes down to throw His weight about and show the devil who is boss! Glory!!

Prayer:
Great King and Mighty God of war, I praise and adore you today. I declare that you’re bigger than all my fears and circumstances. I joy in you. Great and majestic power surrounds you. You are bigger than all the universe put together. I win always in you. I praise you in every situation. You’re a good God. Hallelujah!
