THE PRIEST VERSES THE PROPHET
[[Rom 8:16]] AKJV The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
The Holy Spirit bears witness with our recreated human spirit. Your spirit and the Holy Spirit always speak the same language, in other words. Hallelujah! The mind of God concerning every situation is resident in our spirit as New Creations. You can always have access to the voice of God because He lives in you. Glory!
In the Old Testament, God spoke to His people through the prophets. Hebrews 1:1 and 2 emphasized, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son…” God spoke only through the prophets because the Holy Spirit did not indwell anyone, including the prophets. God would, however, choose certain men and inspire them, and they will speak the mind of God to the people.
In this day, however, the Holy Spirit now lives in all of God’s people. This means all of us have access to the voice of God. You don’t need a prophet necessarily to tell you the mind of God; the Holy Spirit Himself tabernacles in you. Glory! The days when God will do nothing unless He reveals it to His servants, the prophets are over. Now, we all filled with the Holy Spirit. No wonder the bible says, “We HAVE (not shall have) the mind of Christ” *(1Co 2:16).
This is why the New Testament doesn’t call us prophets but priests (Rev 1:6). A priest is greater than a prophet. Prophets only speak the mind of God when they are inspired, but a priest has the law (the word) every day. The priest also has access to the Holiest of Holies. Again, the priest could minister forgiveness of sins to the people. The priest also represented the people before God. A priest has a stand before Almighty God. Prophets were called, but priests were born. Glory to God! You are God’s priest. He has made us priests and kings *(Rev 5:10). Glory!
Confession:
I’m a priest of God. I have access to God’s mind any day. I live in God’s presence. I operate the mind of divinity. I can’t miss the voice and plan of God. Hallelujah!
