THE REVELATION OF THE CHRIST
[[Mat 16:16, 18]] KJV And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
*And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
One day, Jesus asked His disciples who they think He is. Amazingly, they swiftly run into confusion. Peter however declared “Thou art the Christ!” Then Jesus said to him “…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The triumphant church of Jesus is built upon the revelation of “Thou art the Christ.” In order words, the church which hell’s gates cannot prevail against is the church that knows her connection with the Christ, or the church that points people to Christ.
Christ is not the surname of Jesus. Christ is a body. Actually, Christ is a combination of Jesus and His church. Ephesians 1:22, 23 says God “hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Here we discover the Christ is a body made up of Jesus (the head) and His church (the believer who is His body). This is why we (the church) are called the Body of Christ.
Colossians 1:18 also declares, “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” You see, when the revelation of our connection with Jesus as the Christ comes alive in us, in all things we’ll have preeminence. We’ll be so full of Him that the gates (operations) of hell cannot prevail against us. When you find believers always complaining about defeat, it means they are not built upon “Thou art the Christ.”
Friend, to be born again means you are incorporated into Christ. It’s a divine amalgamation. He is the head, you are the body, and all things, including the devil, are under your feet! Glory to God! In all things, you have preeminence! Hallelujah! And the gates of hell shall NOT prevail against you. Glory!
Confession:
I’m united with Christ. My life is incorporated in Jesus. As He is, so am I in this world. In all things, I have preeminence. I win always! Glory to God! Jesus is my head. Hallelujah!
