THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
[[Rom 1:17]] KJV For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
In the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed or uncovered. There is the righteousness of God. And we must not confuse the righteousness of the law with God’s righteousness.
In the Old Testament, the righteousness of the law is also revealed. This is the righteousness that comes by observing the laws of God *(Rom 9:31). This righteousness is NOT the righteousness of God. It was of the law. The only thing about this righteousness is the fact that God endorsed it because the law was given by Him.
But, there is a righteousness greater than that of the law. This is the very righteousness of God. This righteousness does not come by observing the law; it comes by faith *(Rom 3:22). In Christ God’s righteousness is manifested.
Romans 3:21 says, ‘But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested…’ Unfortunately, many of God’s people are ignorant of this righteousness of God. So they go about trying to establish their own righteousness. Paul talks about them:
[[Rom 10:3]] KJV For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Paul shows us that if we go about establishing our own righteousness, we do not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ become sin for us so “that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” *(2Cor 5:21).
You are now the righteousness of God. You need not try to do anything to be righteous. All you need to do is to believe. This righteousness is of faith. So you must boldly declare it in faith. In Romans 10 we see that the righteousness of the law “DOETH” but that righteousness of faith “SAITH” *(Rom 10:5, 6). In the Old Testament they had to DO something to become righteous. Under grace we have to CONFESS it because we are already made righteous in Christ. Hallelujah!
Believe what God say about you. Endorse it in your life. Confess it and you’ll see that it’ll be manifested to all men. You are the righteousness of God. You are as righteousness as God is. It has nothing to do with what you do, rather it has everything to do with what you believe. Only believe!

Father I thank you for making me righteous. The word of God is my identity. I live a life of righteousness by faith. I am what God says I am. I walk in righteousness everyday. I and my Father are one. Glory!
