THE SECRET POWER OF OBEDIENCE
[[Gen 22:18]] KJV And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Obedience is the key to the blessing. Every great blessing or divine intervention in the Bible was tied to an act of obedience. Samuel said it this way, “Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams” *(1Sa 15:22).
God delights in our obedience than all the many things we sacrifice ourselves and things to do. We must be willing to follow the voice of God as He leads us in simple things. Many have missed great opportunities to fulfil purpose and destiny because of disobedience. Saul, for example, lost his dynasty because he failed to obey *(1Sa 15:22-25).
In our maiden text, God told Abraham that the blessings of nations are trapped in his kids because of his obedience. A man’s obedience opened doors of incalculable blessings to generations unborn. Our obedience is not just for our benefit. Future generations stand in the balance. This is why we must do well to follow and obey God’s voice.
Don’t ignore the still small voice that beckons you to sow that seed. Do all you can to obey the call to serve in the ministry as the Holy Ghost pricks you. Go ahead and forgive who God is asking you to forgive. Always know that a generation hangs on the balance. Your disobedience is too expensive.
Prayer:
Dear God, I’m willing and ready to obey your voice and follow your leading. I receive the grace to trust and obey you each step of the way. I love you, Lord.
