THE SHINING LIGHT
[[Pro 4:18]] KJV But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
The word ‘Just’ is from the word ‘Justice’ or ‘Justified.’ A just man is one that is justified before God or made right with God. In order words, he or she is righteous: he is born again.
In our opening text, we are told that the path of the just (the righteous man) is as a shining light. Path here talks about the ways of the man and the eventualities of his life. And the above scripture says it’s as a shining light. The shining light refers to the early morning light that breaks out at dawn. Someone said, “The darkest part of the day is the dawn; the hour before the breaking of day.”
The life of the righteous, however, is like a shining light: the early morning light. Out of darkness, he shines and breaks forth. Darkness can’t hold you back. The righteous may not just jump into day light, rather, his shining starts like the early morning light. And it keeps shining brighter and clearer until it reaches the full manifestation of God’s glory destined for him. The Amplified Bible puts it this way;
[AMP] Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].
Our glory is not sudden: it’s progressive. God moves us from one level of glory to another. That means anything you’ve not seen in your life now is in the pipeline. You can only get better. You’ll shine and keep shining until a perfect day. So don’t rush things in your life. Allow God to bring forth His beauty in you. Don’t think you are disadvantaged because you can’t be. Glory to God!
Confession:
I am the light of the world. Am a light. My life is flooded with light. I shine everywhere I go. There’s no darkness in me. Nothing can be hidden from me. Am shining! Glory!
