THE SOUL CONNECTION

[[1Th 3:8]] KJV For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

The church is a family. The church is a tree that connects one another. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Our lives and destinies are connected to each other.

When we walk in this unity of spirit, we become indomitable. In Psalm 133, the Psalmist likened our unity to the anointing the flows from the head to the skirts of the Priest’s garment (Ps 133:1-3). In other words, in unity each one is blessed from the head to the least in church.

This means also that what happens to one affects the other. In our opening text, Paul affirms that they (the apostles) live if the brethren stand fast in the faith. The stability of our souls that we win to the Lord has a bearing in a sense on our lives. Every child of God who is passionate about soul winning can identify with this truth.

When you win souls and they grow in the things of God, it brings you fulfilment and joy: something inside you is kindled. On the contrary, if the opposite happens, we become sad. Something in you ‘dies.’ Joy is evaporated when our souls slip back into the world. Our souls are tied to us in that sense.

This is why we must be poised not only about winning souls but most importantly, discipling them and establishing them in the faith. It’s the joy of every true leader; to see their followers established. John puts it this way:

[[2Jn 1:4]] KJV I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

Who is your soul in Christ? How many are you establishing in the faith? Are your children walking in the truth? The joy of a truth father, pastor or leader is to see their children walking in the truth. Win them. Teach them. And Establish them: that’s our calling.

Prayer:
Father I receive your word. And I give myself to the establishing of souls in the faith. I also pray for the stability of souls I have led to Christ. And I commit them to the Holy Ghost in Jesus’s name. Amen
