THE URGENCY OF OUR CALLING
[[Joh 4:35]] KJV Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Many times we procrastinate important things in life. Procrastination they say, is a thief of time. Important things must be addressed with urgency. And soul wining is THE MOST IMPORTANT reason why we exist.
The Body of Christ today is drifting from substance. We are drifting so swiftly that only a divine intervention can prevent us from disaster. Too many times, we focus on non-essentials. And our distinction from the Early Church is fast becoming even more visible.
We focus on delivering believers from satanic bondages leaving the world untouched. The Early Church on the contrary, delivered their world and brought them to Christ. Our focus has drifted away from our sole purpose -evangelism.
We hold weeklong meetings and revival and not once is the sinner given the opportunity to receive salvation. Alter call has disappeared from our services. We must go back to our calling: we must return to evangelizing our world.
Sinners lie in gross darkness around us needing help. Millions perish each moment without Christ. Who will reach out to them with the gospel? Now preacher will not start churches in certain religions populated areas because such churches won’t grow. We want to have large churches because we seek to impress others. And in doing this we shift our focus from our mission fields.
In the above, the Master cautions us against procrastination. He contends the the harvest of souls is already ready. Let passion for reaching the lost consume and fill your heart today. May we return to the rock from whence we have come. And may the burden of the Lord became our burden.
Prayer:
Father I thank you for your word. I ask that you ignite my heart with holy fire for the lost. Without you I can do nothing. I pray that you start the fire in me to reach the lost. I embrace the call to reach the lost with fresh fire in Jesus’ name. Amen.
