WAITING FOR GOD
[[Psa 37:7]] KJV Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Waiting is a painful thing, but the outcome is always powerful. The challenge with many of God’s people is the discipline to wait for God. The pressure of this world and the quest to accomplish things robs us of the time to wait for God. We live in a generation where everything is running too fast, and if you don’t accomplish something in time, you are labelled a failure.
This pushed countless to move before God’s timing and landed them in terrible waters. Seeing people prosper around you, marry, and accomplish great things can easily make you think you have failed. But you are not failing because others are succeeding; you only fail when you miss God’s timing. We must train ourselves to wait for God. Cease to rush. Don’t hasten yourself to become anything. You are on God’s mind and calendar. He’ll make all things beautiful IN HIS TIME, and not yours.
The NET version of Psalms 37:7 puts it this way, “Wait patiently for the Lord! Wait confidently for him! Do not fret over the apparent success of a sinner, a man who carries out wicked schemes!” Don’t let what is happening around you shift your focus. Begin your year by patiently waiting on God. Don”t fret. Waiting for God cannot land you in shame. Glory to God!
So don’t fret. Don’t doubt. Don’t be moved by what’s going on around you. Learn to wait for God. Trust in His time. Believe in Him. Romans 10:11 confirms; “For the scripture said, Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” You will not be put to shame. Only believe. Wait for God!
Prayer:
Dear God, I trust in you. Teach me to wait. Help me to stand again all odds and wait patiently for you. I hope in you. I choose to wait.
