WORKS AND FAITH
[[Jas 2:17]] AKJV Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.
Faith without works is dead. In other words, faith alone cannot produce results. Having faith is good but not enough. You must fuel your faith with works in other for your faith to generate the desired results. I must also clarify here, that works here has nothing to do with the Law. Works here refers to the works of faith.
James clarified this when he used Abraham as an example to buttress his point (Jam 2:21-24). Abraham lived some 450 years before the Law. So definitely works in the case of Abraham couldn’t have referred to the Law. There are works of faith. These works make faith alive. James 2:26 said, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
The works of faith is simply acting out your faith. After you believe, you must behave in like manner. For example, if you believe that you are healed, don’t stay on the sick bed! Get it! And act out your healing! Faith must be lived out! God honours our faith by bringing us into the manifestation of our works. Hallelujah!
Rise up today in faith. It’s not enough just to believe: you must behave your believe. Act out what you believe! If you have faith, push it with some works. Glory to God! And God will honour your faith by bringing you into the manifestation of your works of faith! Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Dear God I thank you for your word. I work out my faith in the name of Jesus. I declare that my situation and circumstances respond and lineup with my faith even now in Jesus’ name.
