YE HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE
[[Heb 10:36]] KJV For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Patience is a vital virtue. Patience is the capacity to tolerate delay, troubles, or suffering without becoming angry or losing your temper. In this fast-track world, patience is a rare virtue to come by. Very few cultivate the capacity to wait. The difference between the matured and the childish is in patience.
Unfortunately, many carry this wrong attitude of not being able to wait into the things of God. People want quick success and miracles. They want to obtain God’s promises in their own time and terms. Our opening text, however, reminds us; “…ye have need of patience…” Patience is a need. We cannot access God’s purpose for our lives if we are not patient.
We must not be “…slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” *(Heb 6:12). The men of old inherited God’s promises through patience. This is why you need patience. Train yourself not to rush things. Just follow God’s timing.
Cultivate the art of waiting and tolerating delay without being agitated. Learn to allow things to unfold in divine timing. You cannot follow God and be late. Even if things tarry, know that He makes all things beautiful in His time. Glory to God! All things will work together for your good. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your word today. I cultivate the ability to be patient, waiting for your divine timing. I follow patience, and I thank you for the grace to be patient in Jesus’ name.
