YOUR LIFE OR THE MINISTRY
[[Act 20:24]] AKJV But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Serving God must be our passion as God’s people. We must cultivate the right attitude that makes our ministry relevant in the kingdom of our God and efficient in our world. The above reveals the attitude of the apostles of old that made them impact their world for God. In the first place, those apostles didn’t see ministry as the work of some selected few: everyone was involved in the ministry.
Preaching the gospel, winning the lost, healing the sick, showing love and compassion, helping the needy, and all that we do in the ministry must be done by the entire church. We must all be involved. We must all do the work of the ministry. This is how to reach the world with the gospel. The ENTIRE GOSPEL must be preached by the ENTIRE CHURCH to the ENTIRE WORLD. Hallelujah!
In the above Paul contended; “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” These believers didn’t count their lives dear to themselves because they had to do ministry. May I suggest that we may be doing little because our lives are too dear to us?
Heaven is yearning for selfless believers: men and women who will make the ministry and the work of God priority in their lives. May you come to that place in your walk with God where you are completely sold out to God. May preaching the gospel, winning the lost and the work of the ministry be more dear to you than your very life. Glory to God.
Prayer:
Dear God, I thank you for enlightening me through your word today. I receive grace to be passionate about the work of the ministry. Ignite holy fire in me. Let me burn for you, Lord.
