THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

[[Job 17:9]] KJV The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

Job went through a lot of challenges. His friends couldn’t even believe that he was clean. He lamented concerning his situation that “Upright men shall be astonied at this…” *(Job 17:8). Yet Job refused to comprise his purity. As a righteous man, he held on to his ways. Glory to God!

Many things will try to make you conform. The challenges of life and circumstances may force you to bow to the statuesque. But righteous men hold on to their ways. The reason is because “he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.” The way of righteousness generates strength and fortitude.

Righteousness is not a weakness; it’s a strength. Many times, people see the way of righteousness as a form of weakness or being a ‘doormat of Jesus’ for people to walk on. But our opening text says, “the righteous person will hold to his way, and those with clean hands will grow stronger and stronger” *(ISV). Refuse to walk away from the way of righteousness.

Today, allow God’s word to challenge you. Refuse to conform to the patten of this world. Folks may call you names, ridicule you, and make you feel stupid about your position of righteousness. But it is the way of strength. No wonder Psalm 37:37 says, “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” Your end will be peace. Hallelujah!

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your grace that causes me to live triumphantly every day. I’m strengthened through the Holy Ghost to live righteousnly and walk in it. I thank you, Lord. I declare I grow stronger through your righteousness in Jesus’ name.
