BRING FORTH FRUITS
[[Joh 15:16]] KJV Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
In the above, Jesus made a very profound statement about our salvation. Many times, we say things like, “I have given my life to Christ.” This gives an idea that we chose Christ. But here, Jesus makes it clear that we didn’t choose Him, rather He chose us. Think about it, as sinners, we didn’t have any sense to choose Christ. We couldn’t even give our lives to Him if He didn’t make is possible by first giving His life on the cross.
This must give us a certain mind in our walk with God. We are, because He is. Our lives literarily belong to His. We must know that we are privileged to belong to Jesus. Hallelujah! It is only then shall we become fruitful. Notice in the above that God had a purpose for choosing you. His purpose was not to get you a new car, get you a husband or break a curse over your life; His purpose is for you to GO AND BRING FORTH FRUITS!
Sadly, the type of Christianity we have now only promise us of miracles and tell us nothing about bearing fruits. Whereas miracle are real, we are called to bear fruits. We are called to GO! Christianity is not for ‘sitters,’ it’s for ‘Goers!’ God called us to GO to our friends, family, enemies, campuses, businesses, and everywhere we find ourselves, and get them saved! Our salvation had a purpose: GO AND BRING FORTH FRUITS!
Every believer must know that heaven has entrusted him or her with the task of saving souls. And the salvation of countless are tired to our simple obedience to this heavenly call. Your Savior is counting on you as His only hope to save someone. Will you disappoint Him? Today, step out! GO, AND BRING FORTH FRUITS unto salvation. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Dear God I answer the call to go and reach others with the gospel. Help me forsake all in order to focus on pleasing you. Help me to touch my world with your light in Jesus’ name.
