LIVING THE WORD
[[Act 28:8]] KJV And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
The Apostle Paul did not only preach about the power in the gospel: he lived it. Jesus told us that believers ‘…shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover’ (Mar 16:18).
This life of the Holy Ghost was evidently manifested in Paul. A venomous viper fasten itself and unleashed its deadly venom into his bloodstream while it hanged itself on Paul’s hand. But he simply shook of the snake into a fire and felt no harm as if nothing had happened. He had no sense of fear (Act 28:5).
In our opening text for instance, the chief of an island’s father was sick, and Paul laid hands on him and healed him. Think about it? Everything Jesus said the believer would do, Paul lived it. He picked up poisonous snakes, laid hands on the sick and healed them, etc.
Paul shows us that we too can and must live this supernatural life just like Jesus said we could. The same Holy Spirit is in you too. You are filled with all the fullness of God. So put the word of God to work. Start practicing what Jeuss said you can do and watch the Holy Ghost do the unthinkable with your life. Glory to God!
Confession:
I am filled with all the fullness of God. I am who God says I’m. I can do what God says I can do. I walk in the power of the Spirit. I live a supernatural life. I walk over serpents. Hallelujah
