THREE KEY PEOPLE TO OBEY

[[Deu 28:2]] KJV And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

The blessing of the LORD is activated in our lives when we walk in obedience. Obedience is the power that brings the blessing. As we hearken to the voice of the LORD to obey Him, overtaking blessings comes upon us. You can not downplay the importance of obedience in the life of the believer.

There are three main people the word of God teaches us to obey, and obeying these people brings us into God’s favour and blessings. The first person is the LORD. Deu 11:27 shows us that we shall have “A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God…” Train yourself to obey what God’s word says about your particular situation. That’s how to bring in the blessing in that area of your life.

Secondly, we must obey parent in the LORD. Eph 6:1says, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” Parent here do not refer to biological parents because the next verse talked about honouring your father and mother. Again, the Greek word used is ‘gonueos’ which is a masculine noun and singular for parent.

You must obey the person God used to raise you in the LORD. Such spiritual parent watch for your soul. Heb 13:17 explains, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

Finally, you must obey your father and mother. These are your biological parents. Col 3:20 puts it this way “Children obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” Why is this important? Eph 6:2 reminds us that this is the first commandment with a promise. I see you walking in obedience in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for enlightening me through your word. I receive the wisdom and humility to walk in obedience in the name of Jesus, submitting myself to be instructed and led in Jesus’ name.
