NO IMPUTATION OF SIN

[[Rom 4:8]] KJV Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

David being a prophet describe the New Creation when he talked about how blessed we are because God has make us righteous without works and forgiven all our sins we would ever commit (Rom 4:6-8). Then he concludes that blessed is the man to who the LORD will not impute sin.

‘Impute’ is the Greek ‘logizomai’ from which we have the word logarism, and it means to take inventory. It’s an accounting term which means to balance the sheet. The same word was used concerning Abraham when the bible said he believed God and it was reckon (logizomai) to him for righteousness.

In other words, without doing one act or righteousness, Abraham’s faith balanced the sheet that he was righteous. In the same was, as New Creations in Christ who have believed the work Jesus did for us, our faith in the fact that God has made us righteous makes it impossible for God to impute or judge us at any time to be found with sin.

Whereas this may be difficult for the religious mind, Paul throws more light on it when he said, ‘…God is no longer counting our sins against us….’ (2Cor 5:19). You are God’s righteousness. And before Him, there is no sin in you. Hence, live everyday boldly in His presence knowing that you are not condemned before your Father who deeply loves you. Glory!

Confession:
I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I live in the consciousness of who I am in Christ. I believe in the finished work of Christ. I am who God says I am. I live in victories everyday. I win today in Jesus’ name.
