THE SINNER AND SAINTS

[[Luk 15:1]] KJV Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

We live in a hypocritical world. The odour is in our churches, too. No one wants to identify with the world, yet the world is our mission field. We do a lot of publicity to attract our fellow Christians to church but in the case of Jesus, however, sinned pressed in to hear Him. The text doesn’t suggest that His message appealed to their flesh but rather convicted them to repentance.

Lets put it this way, they were sick and needed healing; and Jesus had the medicine to cure them. Could it be that sinner do not press to hear us because we do too much diagnoses in stead of curing? Or may be, our messages have no bearing on them? Or may be, it lack the power to convict them? Or even may be, our hypocrisy is too obvious that it gives them no room to turn away from their evil?

As we preach and do all our church stuff, we should never forget that our sole purpose for existence is to reach our world for our God. And nothing must take the place of soul winning in our lives and ministry.

The world is sick, sinking deeper into sin and destruction every day. The time has come for us to live up to the call. The call of compassion and the great commission. You are the hope of the sinner. You are THE LIGHT of the world. If you fail to shine, the whole world will be in gross darkness.

Let us open our alms to sinners. Let us make room in our churches for the lost. May our churches become sinner-friendly churches. May the passion that drove Messiah to the cross drive us to the lost. Live today with a sinner in mind.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your word. I declare am a road block to hell. I open up myself to be used by you to reach my world. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
