MEMBER OF HIS BODY, FLESH, AND BONES
[[Eph 5:30]] KJV For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
The above scripture reveals what, in my opinion, is the biggest thing in the entire Bible. Speaking about the Christian, Paul declares that “We (you and I) are members of His (Jesus’ ) body, flesh, and bones.” Hallelujah!
Through our new birth and regeneration, we have become united with the Master in all things. We have become co-heirs with Him. We are now members of His BODY, FLESH, and BONES. Whereas this is a spiritual reality, it also denotes some deep truths.
- The Body of Christ is His church *(Col 1:24), which is also His kingdom *(2Pet 1:11) or better still, the kingdom of God. As members of His body, it means that we have become legal citizens of God’s kingdom with rights and privileges. Glory! We are royalty. No wonder the bible says we are a royal priesthood*(1Pet 2:9).
- The unity of flesh in the Bible speaks of covenant. For example, in marriage, because spouses share their bodies, they become one flesh by covenant. Even sleeping with a harlot makes one united in body *(Eph 5:31 , 1Cor 6:16). In the same way, as members of Christ’s flesh, we are joint-heirs of all of God’s promises and inheritance by covenant *(Gal 3:14).
- Finally, bone speaks of structure. The new birth in Christ Jesus has given us the privilege to become a part of the leadership structure of God’s kingdom. If we serve well in the Body of Christ (which is our local church, -also note that the function of the bones is in the body) we shall have appointments in leadership in glory *(Matt 25:21)! Hallelujah!
Dear friend, you are not ordinary. You are special. You are a member of Jesus’ body, flesh, and bones. You are precious before the Father. This is why nothing can destroy you because your termination will mean the abortion of a major heavenly project. And God will not permit that. Live every day conscious of the fact that you are a member of Jesus’ body, flesh, and bone. Glory!
Confession:
My life is interwoven into Jesus’ life. Am a member of His body, flesh, and bones. I live from Him. Jesus is my life. I live every day from victories in glory. Am a relevant part of God’s kingdom and structure. Glory!!
