PRESSING FOR A HIGHER MARK
[[Phi 3:14]] KJV I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
There is a mark of our high calling in Christ. That’s to say that in Christ, we have a height or dimension to attain in whatever we are called to do. Paul said he pressed towards that mark for the prize. You see, there is also a prize (reward) of our high calling in Christ. And our reward is according to the height we were able to attain in our high calling.
Jesus said those who become faithful will be made rulers over many in His kingdom *(Mat 25:21). Peter also tells us that an entrance will be ministered to us abundantly in God’s kingdom *(2Pe 1:11). Paul talks about crowns and stars differing in glory*(1Cor 15:41). Again, we are told that our labour will not be in vain *(1Cor 15:58). Hebrews says God is “a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him” *(Heb 11:6).
Whatever you do for God and His kingdom shall be rewarded. So maximize your ministry. Press towards the highest mark. Unfortunately, while some build with gold and precious stone, others are also building with wood and grass, which can not stand the fire that will try our work for the Master on the final day. Watch this scripture;
[[1Co 3:12, 13]] KJV Now, if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
*Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
What sort of work are you building for God? When you have the opportunity to serve God, press for the highest mark. If it’s for God, give it your best. Do ministry with excellence. Let people see you and love to serve God. Touch lives. Transform and build people. Let your time, expertise, money, and your very life go into it. God is faithful, and your labour will be rewarded.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for today. I love you, Lord. I love you with my life. I receive the grace to press for the highest mark for the kingdom. I deal excellently in the ministry. I give my life, sold out to touch and transform countless for our God in Jesus’ name.
