NOT FOLLOWING EVIL
[[3Jn 1:11]] KJV Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
In the above, we are admonished not to follow that which is evil. Here, the Holy Ghost is showing us that it’s possible to be born again and still be led by evil. Not following evil means not allowing evil to lead you. We must not follow evil’s leadership.
Evil is ‘Kakos’ in Greek which actually denotes a mode of thinking, feeling, or acting that is based on what is pernicious, wicked, destructive and wrong. Our thinking, feeling, and actions must be right, constructive and full of love. Unfortunately, many believers allow evil to lead them.
This is why you must train yourself to walk in love. Think no evil, see no evil, hear no evil, and live a life free from evil. Learn to practice your love walk when people hurt and offend you. Learn to forgive people. Hatred and bitterness only affect you while those who hurt you walk free. Bitterness is a self-made poison; refuse to harbour it.
There’s no evil in you. God has shared His love abroad in our heart through the Holy Ghost *(Rom 5:5). So be conscious of the divine love in you and live from within. Refuse to follow evil. Overcome evil with good. And refuse to be overpowered by evil.
[[Rom 12:21]] KJV Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Prayer:
Father I thank you for your word today. I revive it with joy and gladness. I walk in love. I reject the way of evil. I forgive and let go those who have hurt me. I follow good and through the Holy Ghost unleash pure love from within towards those who hurt me in Jesus’ name.
