THE SWEETNESS AND THE WORD
[[Rev 10:10]] KJV And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
In the spirit on the day of the Lord, John saw a revelation. God spoke to him in that revelation to go to an angel he saw who had a little book in his hand and take the book. The Angel, however, gave him the book and instructed him to eat it. When he did, it tasted sweet like honey in the month but bitter in the belly.
Ezekiel had a similar experience when God asked him to eat the scroll and go speak to the children of Israel *(Ez 3:3). Like John, the scroll was sweet in the month. You see, the sweetness of God’s word is when we put it in our mouth. Sweetness and honey in the scriptures denotes prosperity, success, and fulfilment. When we put God’s word on our lips, thus, speak it all the time, we’ll experience divine sweetness.
Notwithstanding, when the word enters the belly, it’s bitter. The belly is the place of carnality and reasoning. The belly denotes that which satisfies flesh and the works of the flesh. “Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body” *(1Co 6:13).
When we use the word of God to fulfil our carnal desires and satisfy the flesh, we’ll have bitter experiences, but when we put God’s word in our mouth, prosperity and good success will be our portion. So today, speak forth God’s word to your life. Saturate your life with goodies from the word. Make your way prosperous and have good success.
[[Joshua 1:0]] ESVThis Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Confession:
I’m the expression of divinity on earth. My life is a stream of success. I’m a success story. Greater is He that is in me. I win all the time. I’m God’s righteousness in Christ. Glory! Kings bow to me. Hallelujah!
