THE UNSPECTACULAR FAITH
[[Heb 11:11]] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Faith may produce spectacular results in others, but that does not mean you do not have faith. Abraham is well noted in the scriptures as the father of faith. He displayed such amazing faith in God. He did the unusual. He was even ready to literally kill his only son because he heard a voice speaking to him to do so, which he believed was God’s voice. Amazing!
In his old age, when even Sarah the wife’s womb was dead, he had faith for a son to be born to him. When the LORD appeared to Abraham and told him that he would have a son at age 100 and that Sarah whose womb was dead will still conceive at over 90 years of age, he believed. But the bible said Sarah laughed in unbelief, disputing the possibility -Gen 18:9-14.
In all these, Abraham’s faith stood out. It looked like he had all the faith. We read about the faith of Abraham and how he refused to stagger through unbelief. But in our opening text, the Holy Ghost points to us that by faith, Sarah received strength to conceive.
You see, the point here is that others may seem to have spectacular results through faith. But this doesn’t mean you don’t have faith. Others may have faith for millions of cedis and may even testify about their great financial miracle, whereas your faith may only produce one cedi. Don’t write yourself off. It’s still faith.
The faith needed to raise the dead is the same faith needed to heal a headache. The faith needed to build a mansion is the same needed to rent a single room apartment. The difference is the desire of the carrier of the faith. Faith is faith. You don’t need a mountain size faith to move mountains. All you need is faith as small as mustard seed. So don’t let what is happening in other people’s lives scare you. They are not better than you. They only have big desires and dreams. So you, too, dream big!
You don’t lack faith. God has dealt with every one of us the measure of faith – Rom 12:3. You use faith every day. To sit on a chair and not think that it will break is faith. To eat and believe that the food will enter your mouth to give you strength is also faith. Faith is evident in ourlives everyday. You have faith. What you need is to stretch your dream, and it will amaze you what the faith in you will accomplish for you.
Dream big. Dream beyond your world. Step out today knowing that something big is coming your way. Have great expectations and desires, and release your faith. The results will be awesome. I see you accomplishing great feats through faith. Only believe!
Prayer:
Father, I receive your word today with meekness and joy, full of faith. I declare that faith comes alive in me. I conceive world shaking dreams and ideas. And I release my faith for greater works in Jesus’ name. Amen.
