THE ENIGMA OF TRIED FAITH

[[1Pe 1:7]] KJV That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Peter relates the trial of our faith to the preciousness of gold. Gold in the bible usually speak of divinity and that which does not perish. But in comparison to our faith, gold is said to perish while our faith remains precious. Think about it?

This shows us how powerful your faith is. And when your faith is tried, it’s even more precious. Many think that when walking by faith everything will be perfect. Believers don’t usually want to go through difficulties. We assume that faith means there will be no challenges.

Nonetheless, trials make faith precious. ‘Precious’ from the Greek ‘timios’ means to hold in honour and high esteem. Abraham for example, is highly esteemed because his faith was tried. Trials of faith makes us matured and elevates us in the realm of the spirit.

James 1:3 puts it this way, ‘…the proving of your faith works endurance’ (Darby). When faith is tried, it’s being proved. In other words, it’s put to the test to produce greater results. This explains why faith, when tried, elevates us in our walk with God.

The next verse shows us: ‘But you must let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing’ (Jas 1:4 ISV). There is a realm in God where you become complete and matured, lacking nothing. In this realm, you lack nothing because all things are yours; where faith endures trials. Glory to God!

Confession:
My faith is alive, enduring all things. I am tough on the inside. I’m strengthened with might in my inner man. My faith works mightily, and I win all the time. Hallelujah!!
