IN GRACE ALONE

[[Rom 7:3]] AKJV So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

In an allegorical teaching, Paul uses the marriage covenant and union to illustrate the insoluble nature of the law and grace. He explains that just as a woman married cannot be married to another unless the husband is dead, the man under grace likewise cannot hold on to the law.

The grace of God and the laws of God are insoluble; they don’t mix. Many times, believers think by preaching grace alone, people will not be able to live free from sin. On the contrary, we discover from God’s word that sin is rather revived by the law. Anytime we preach the law, we awaken sin in us. Paul explains:

[[Rom 7:9]] AKJV For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

Grace on the other hand removes us from the domain and rulership of sin. Romans 6:14 established that “…sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.” Hallelujah! Grace alone is sufficient to deal with everything in our walk with God.

Become conscious of God’s grace with you. Live and depend on His grace. Don’t try to mix the law with grace. Don’t depend on yourself or efforts to please God. Have faith in His grace. Faith is the only thing that pleases God. Hallelujah! And know that His grace is sufficient for you. Glory!

Prayer:
Precious Lord, thank you for your grace. I receive the gift of your grace and I live by it. Your grace fills my life. Hallelujah. I live in your grace. Glory!
