THE PLACE OF PRESENCE
[[Psa 91:1]] KJV He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The secret place of the Most High is the place of hiding. In Hebrew, ‘secret’ in the above means, hiding place or shadow. The idea is from the chick hiding under the wings of the mother hen. The chick gets covered under the shadow of the hen.
While it are safe from predators, it actually enjoy deep intimacy. Under her wings, it get to feel the heart beat of the hen, smell her deeply, feel her warmth, and get closer and deeper in bonding. This deep intimacy with God: fellowshiping and abiding in His presence is what is called ‘the secret place.’
Intimacy is presence. Presence is greater than power. The power of God may change the situation around your life, but His presence will change you. Like the chick, you will smell like God Himself. You’ll carry His aura. And deep inside, you will be changed. Your character and heart will sync with His.
That’s why they that dwell in the secret place abides under the shadow of the Almighty. Notice those two important words: ‘dwell’ and ‘abide.’ We don’t visit the secret place. We dwell and abide there. Desire deeply to always abide in His presence. Train yourself to always make a practice of God’s presence. That’s where real transformation is.
Prayer:
LORD please teach me and help me to abide in your presence. Help me to dive deeper into you. Let me radiate you in every area of my life. Draw me deeper into love with you.
