MADE FOR THE OBTAINING OF GLORY

[[2Th 2:14]] KJV Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Growing up, I heard preachers always say God will not share His glory with anybody. In church, they’ll lift up their hands to God and say with great fear, “We don’t want to take your glory!” But studying the scriptures I discovered God never said that. Isaiah 42:8 says, “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Here God was not taking about us (His children), He was saying He wouldn’t give His glory to the heathen nor graven images.

With us however, God shares His glory. Our opening text says God called us unto salvation through the gospel to the “obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus.” This actually means the purpose of our salvation is for us to OBTAIN the glory of Christ. 2Peter 1:3 says God has “called us GLORY and virtue.” Glory to God! Romans 8:30 also declares, “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Hallelujah! We were justified in order to be glorified.

Jesus’ prayer for His disciples (including us, today’s disciples) is even more revealing. He said, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one” *(John 17:22). This shows us that God actually delights in sharing His glory of His kids. He wants to share His glory with us. Don’t say things like, “Father I’m just nothing. I don’t want to take your glory. I’m an empty vessel” in prayer. God doesn’t like it. And you are not an empty vessel. 2Corinthians 4:7 says “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels…” There are heavenly treasures in you. Hallelujah!

Today, know from God’s word that you are glorified. Understand that God delights in sharing His glory with you. Believe the glory of God is in and on you. Everything you do today will be glorious. You’ll produce super amazing results because you are glorified in Christ. You have obtained glory. Hallelujah! Glory to God!

Prayer:
Father, I thank you that you’ve made my life so beautiful. I’m your beauty and made for your glory. I’m a wonder to my world because you have set your love on me to glorify me. And I’m ever grateful to you.
