CONFIDENCE IN FRAIL MEN

[[Joh 2:24, 25]] KJV But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
*And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

Many times we make men our hope even without knowing. And that’s why we suffer a lot of pain and heartache. The bible warns us not to put our trust in men *(Ps 118:8).

Jesus did not commit Himself to men. He did not go for vain glory and man’s praises. He committed Himself to God. There are several reasons why you must not trust in man. Jesus didn’t trust in men because He knew what was in men.

Firstly, there is wickedness in the heart of a man. The bible says a man’s heart is desperately wicked *(Jer 17:9). Secondly, men have weaknesses. The arm of flesh shall fail you *(Ps 73:26). You see, people can promise you anything, they may mean well but they are weak and subject to countless limitations. They may even promise you about what they can do tomorrow and die today.

The bible warns those who go trust in chariots and human strength. God contends in Isaiah that these chariots are flesh and to spirit, and the men are not God *(Isa 31:1-3). I noticed that all the pain people have had to suffer is because of their immense trust and confidence in men.

Another thing to know is that men can be unfaithful. And Pro 25:19 clearly states that “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.” This is why you must not put your hope, trust or confidence in men. You must put your trust in God.

[[Psa 56:4]] KJV In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

David was different; he trusted in God. He also trusted in His word. The way to trust in God is by trusting in His word. God and His word are the same. God may use men but God is not a man. So in using men, He is still not limited. Men may be wicked but God is good *(Ps 73:1). Men may be weak but God is almighty *(Gen 35:11). Men may be unfaithful, but while we are yet unfaithful to God He remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself *(2Tim 2:13).

Look away from the men God may use to help and bless you and look up to God. Put your faith and trust in Him alone. When everything else fails and ceases to function, God will still be God. So keep your faith alive! Only believe!

Prayer:
I thank you my Father and God. In you alone I put my trust. I refuse to rely on the arm of flesh. I trust in you. I believe in you. You are my hope and the strength of my life. Love you lord.
