ADELPHOS
[[Joh 20:17]] KJV Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
In the above is an encounter of Marry with Jesus after His resurrection. Excited to see the Master risen from the dead, Marry attempted reaching out to Jesus. But the Lord said to her “Touch me not.”
Like the high priests in the Old Testament, Jesus must not be touched because He was going into the holies of holies -the presence of God the Father. His instruction to Marry notwithstanding is very enlightening; “Go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” An important truth is unveiled:
Jesus referred to His followers are brethren. Prior to His resurrection He called them disciples or apostles. After His death however, everything changed. We are now brethren. The Greek is ‘adelphos’ meaning brothers of the same biological parent.
Glory to God! Through the substitutional death of Jesus, we have been born again together into the same family of God *(Eph 3:15). We are made acceptable into the beloved *(Eph 1:6). We now belong to the same Father. We are to God what Jesus is to Him. No wonder the bible says “as He is so are we in this world.”
[[1Jn 4:17]] KJV Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
‘As’ in the above is ‘kathos’ in Greek meaning IN PROPORTION AS or TO THE SAME DEGREE. The degree to which Jesus is the Son of God is the same degree and proportion we have all attained. We have the same rights Jesus has with the Father as sons.
It’s time for us to recognize this truth, accept it and consciously walk in it. When we do, we’ll manifest heaven upon the earth. You are not ordinary. You are the Father’s son. You are special. Live everyday consious of who you are. Glory!
Prayer:
My Father, thank you for the privilege to be called your son and to the the same rights of sonship that Jesus has with you. Am humbled by this heavenly love towards me. I accept it and rejoice in it, living this glorious life to your praise and glory. Amen.
