DELIBERATELY SELF-TRANSFORMATION
[[Dan 1:8]] KJV But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Daniel, being a slave and captive of war, when Nebuchadnazzar raided Israel, was able to rise to become the first among the top three presidents, who had oversight on one thousand presidents over the entire region of Babylon to Persia. This didn’t just happen. Daniel has disciplines. He was deliberate. He distinguished himself.
In the above, the Bible says “…Daniel purposed in his heart…” The NET translation says, “Daniel made up his mind…” Success is intentional. Your prosperity will come by deliberate set of actions and steps that you take. You must be deliberate about things that you must do in order to have all that God has purposed for you to have this year.
‘To purpose,’ from the Hebrew, ‘siym’ means, to set, to direct towards, determine, and to transform into. If we are going to be deliberate about fulfilling God’s plan and purposes for this year, we must be determined, direct our mind and desires towards God’s plan, and transform ourselves into what God can use to fulfill His plans and purposes.
To be deliberate requires self transformation. To be deliberate means there are things we can’t do anymore because their presence in our lives will hinder or slow God’s plan. Transform yourself into a prayerful person. Deliberately tithe, give your first fruits, get into soul winning, and consecrate yourself in ways that will make you become all that God has purposed. You will fulfil God’s purpose. This year, you will do well.
Prayer:
Dear God, I love you with all my heart. Please help me to make the deliberate changes I need to make in order to be planted in the centre of your will. I deliberately transform myself by your grace into what you can use to fulfil your purpose for my life in Jesus’ name.
