HOW TO DOMINATE SIN THE GRACE-WAY
[[Rom 6:1]] KJV What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Those who have not fully apprehended the gospel of grace have a twisted mindset about grace. They usually think that preaching grace makes people live in sin. In the above, Paul contended; “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” The next verse answers the question: “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” *(Rom 6:2).
What Paul is saying in the above is that our righteousness is excessively by grace. And grace is without our works. This position, whoever doesn’t mean we go ahead living anyhow. The reason is that we are dead to sin, and we cannot live any longer in sin. In order words, when you are born again, you don’t love to live in sin because you are dead to sin. This is where grace becomes crucial. Because a dead man cannot work.
If we are dead to sin, then we cannot work anymore against sin. Dead people have no works. Once we start using our works to fight sin, we become alive to sin and hence overpowered by it. The law makes us alive to sin, but grace keeps us dead to sin. So then, only through grace can we have dominion over sin. Paul puts it like this:
[[Rom 6:14]] KJV For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Glory to God! So live in grace consciousness. Cease from your own efforts to live right before God; that’s law. Rather, embrace the grace of God and rely solely on God’s grace to live for Him every day. This is the grace-way to dominate sin. Hallelujah!
Confession:
I’m live in grace-consciousness. I live in righteousness through the grace of God without my works. I cease from my labour and embrace the Lord’s rest in righteousness. Glory to God!
