LOVE
[[Rom 13:8]] KJV Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Love is the character and nature of Christianity. Love is a supernatural virtue. Love is God, and God is love. Everything about the Christian must communicate love. When love is absent, God can not be present.
Unfortunately, we have a Christianity now that is mixed with hatred and bitterness. Many of God’s people have not been able to discern this subtle work of the devil in most of our churches that has suffocated love from our midst.
Now, every prayer must involve some kind of enemy who must die. Many Christians are saturated with hatred for their family members. Most of them wish and pray that certain people in their family die because they believe that they are the cause of their sufferings.
Whereas it may be true that certain people might be the reason for some of the evil people suffer, wishing death and destruction for people contradicts our divine nature. Preachers must stop magnifying the devil in the pulpits and start talking about the supernatural power and advantage we have as children of God over Satan. This will make believers fearless and able to love even the worse enemy because they know that they have the victory.
We are not to hate and wish evil for others or even our enemies. The bible tells us to “Recompense to no man evil for evil…”*(Rom12:17). On the contrary, “…if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. *(Rom 12:20). When we begin to walk in love, no power will be strong enough to overcome us. Today, decide to forgive and love those who’ve hurt you. Change your prayer topic about your enemies. Let love saturate your heart and be more like Jesus. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for enlightening me today in your word. I open up my heart for your love to flow through me towards others and even to my enemies. I choose to forgive and refuse to get revenge. I bless my enemies and pray that your grace will change their hearts for your glory in Jesus’ name! Amen.
