DIVINE PRESENCE

[[Jon 1:3]] KJV But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

The presence of the LORD is the manifestation of His glory, power and splendor in a man’s life. When God’s presence is in a place, there is the manifestation of His glory to prove that His Person is there even though the optical eyes my not discern Him.

The presence of God is what brings glory, beauty, splendor and victories to us in life. David knew about the unqualifable blessings of God’s presence so he sort it with all his life. He desired God’s presence, and to behold God’s glory. It was the one thing he sort.

[[Psa 27:4]] KJV One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

The presence of God brought great victories to David and enlarged his kingdom without measure. This same presence is in us today. We can active this divine presence for our advantage. There are many ways we can active God’s presence. But one of the ways many are not acquainted with is the art of staying with your divine assignment.

In our opening text, God instructed Jonah to go to Nineveh to preach but he went down to Tarshish. And in doing so the bible says “He fled from the presence of God.” This doesn’t mean that God’s presence was only at Nineveh but rather, it means God’s presence was tied to His assignment for Jonah. And fleeing from his divine assignment, was fleeing from God’s presence.

You see, God’s presence is embellished in His assignment for us, and when we stay doing His assignment for our lives, we active His presence to bless and increase us in it. Like the disciples doing what Jesus told them to do, the bible says “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them (His presence), and confirming the word with signs following…*(Mar 16:20).

When we stay in our assignment, we active God’s presence. So find out what God wants you to do and do it. And like the apostles of old, God’s presence will be mightily manifested in your life.

Prayer:
Father I thank you for your election of grace. I embrace my calling and ministry with joy, activating your divine presence and accomplishing great feats for the kingdom of our God. I receive your manifest presence to fill my life and to guide me. I thank you for this presence in Jesus’ name. Amen.
