THE ENIGMA OF WORDS
[[Pro 8:6]] KJV Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
In the above, wisdom is speaking. And wisdom said the opening of her mouth shall be right things. Wisdom is demonstrated in our ability to always speak the right words all the time.
Words are powerful. Words are the most awesome gift God gave to mankind. If you study the animal world, you’ll be amazed about what you’ll discover. It’s awestruck to behold the intelligence of some creatures. Most animals almost exhibited the same level of intelligence like humans. The only difference is that they can’t form words. If they did they would be able to create and invent things.
Words are a creative force. In the beginning God created everything by speaking words. Hebrews tells us that “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” *(Hebrews 11:3). Notice the use of the word “Framed” in the above. To frame means TO CONSTRUCT BY FITTING OR UNITING TOGETHER VARIOUS PARTS. It also means TO BRING OR PUT INTO FORM OR ORDER. God gave us the gift of words to construct or reconstruct our live and create our own world to suit our desires for His glory.
Proverb 18 21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” In order words, we kill or make alive by the power of our words. What you say about your health, finance, relationship, and life in general has a bearing on what you’ll reap in life. This is why we must train ourselves to speak excellent things.
Our opening text says in the Amplified “Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.” Always speak excellent, princely and noble things about yourself and others because you are a Prince of the King. Let the opening of your mouth be FOR right things. Speak positive words all the time. Even if the people around you and circumstances paint the wrong picture, let nothing wrong come from you lips. You are an excellent person having the spirit of excellence in you. So speak excellently. Glory!
