ANGELS AMONG US
[[Act 12:8]] KJV And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
One of the ministry overlooked in the church is the ministry of angels. The church is not just made up of a pastor and members alone. Hebrews 12:22-24 shows us that the church of the firstborn constitutes innumerable company of angels, the general assembly, God Himself, and departed saints in glory. All these are part of the church.
In the bible, especially in the book of Acts, we see the angelic working together always with the believers to accomplish God’s purpose. Our opening text talks about how an angel went into the prison when Peter was arrested and brought him out. Peter himself was astonished. He thought it was a vision he was experiencing (Act 12:9-11).
When Rhoda also went to tell the brethren who were praying for Peter that Peter was at the door, they doubled and said it was his angel (Act 12:13-15). This tells us that those believers knew Peter had an angel but they were not conscious of the angels and their ministry. There are angels all around us. We are with innumerable company of angels.
The angels don’t exist for themselves. They are ministering spirit who minister for us and to us (Heb 1:14). Be conscious of the angelic. Don’t hinder their ministry. An angel can pay money into your account. They can go and sign documents for you. Their ministry is to do the word and aid you (Ps 103:20). They excel in strength. There is nothing they can’t do. Expect angelic help this week.
Prayer:
Father I thank you for helping me to be conscious of your angels with me through your word. I am not alone. I walk with innumerable company of angels. They aim me. They are working even now, causing all things to work together for my good in Jesus’ name.
