OVERCOMING BEING EVIL AFFECTED IN THE MIND
[[Act 14:2]] KJV But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
When Paul and Barnabas preached, many Gentiles believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and made their minds evil against the brethren. This is exactly how Satan attacks believers and makes them lose what they receive and believe.
Three things are important here: 1. They stirred up the Gentiles. To stir up means the excite against. Be careful of those who say things to excite you against what you believe and make you look funny. These are attacks of the devil. And you must be mindful of that.
- They made their minds evil affected. People can affect your mind. Satan seeks to affect your mind. Watch out for those who say words that afflict you in the mind to make you exasperated, hurt, and embittered about your faith and the brethren. When the devil attacks you, he makes your mind bitter about what you believe and the brethren.
Don’t entertain words and those who say things to make you hate the brethren, your pastor, or make you feel stupid for believing in God. Understand that the main aim is to make you lose what you believe and ultimately your faith in God. Avoid such and always stay your mind on God. He’ll keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him.
Prayer:
Precious LORD I thank you for your word today. Thank you for showing me how to guard my faith in you. I ask that you keep me in every way. I declare that my faith is fortified. My mind is insulated against being evil affected. I stay my mind on you. Thank you Jesus.
