SIN REMOVED

[[Heb 10:14]] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The writer of the book of Hebrews made a strong argument. He compares the Old Testament sin sacrifices to the sin sacrifice of Jesus’ death. He explains that the sin sacrifice of Christ’s death is what actually REMOVES SIN. The law covered sin through the rituals only to remember them after a year. Hebrews 10:3 says “But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.” This makes it impossible for sin to be removed through the rituals of the law (Heb 10:4,11).

Through the death of Jesus however, our sins are not covered but are REMOVED and destroyed. This is why as a High Priest Jesus doesn’t have to sacrifice daily or yearly. But after He sacrificed Himself for sin, He sat down. Indicating that the sin problem is forever solved (Heb 10:12).

This means there’s no need to do anything about sin again; He had destroyed sin. Paul says in his epistle to the brethren in Rome that Jesus “destroyed sin in His flesh” so that “the righteous requirements of the law would be fulfilled in us” (Rom 8:3,4). So as a believer in Christ, all the Old Testament rituals and requirements are fulfilled in you through Christ Jesus. Your sins are eternally removed. You live a sin-free life.

In our opening text, the writer boldly declared that through the sin sacrifice of Christ God has PERFECTED US FOREVER because we are sanctified. Now when sin is remove, we must have a different mind-set and consciousness. We must not be conscious of sin but of our eternal righteousness we have in Christ. The worshipper once purged should have no more conscience of sin.

[[Heb 10:2]] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Sin consciousness will produce sins, righteousness consciousness will produce righteousness. Satan seeks to keep you in bondage of guilt and sin consciousness. But breakfree. Live in the righteousness you have in Christ. You are perfected forever in Christ!

Confession:
I thank you Lord. In you I am perfected for ever. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is no sin in me. I live my life in the flesh by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and died for me. I am free from guilt and condemnation in Jesus’ name. Glory to God!
