WARMING BY THE DEVIL’S FIRESIDE
[[Luk 22:55]] KJV And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
Peter had promised the Master that he’ll follow Him no matter what. Jesus warned Peter that before the cock croacks he would’ve denied Him three times. Many times, in our own strength, we try to either defend God or please Him.
You cannot please God in your own strength. The bible say without faith it’s impossible to please God *(Heb 11:4). Trying to be holy or righteous will only reveal your sins and weaknesses: you’ll return to those same things you said you wouldn’t do. You must rather believe that you are the righteousness of God in Christ according to God’s word, then you can live the righteous life *(2Cor 5:21).
Think about it, you cannot live like human so long as you think you’re something else. People who have weird sexual orientation think differently about who they are against who God made them to be. You cannot be different from who you think you are. What a man thinks in his heart is who he’ll be *(Pro 23:7).
Outward purity is the manifestation of inward contemplations. Right living is the results of right believing. If you don’t believe that you’re righteous, don’t even think of living it. Peter failed to defend the Master in his strength. When he used human strength he ended up warming himself by the enemies’ fireside.
When you try to serve God in your abilities, you’ll soon discover that you’ve failed and that there’s still an emptiness inside. And when this happens, most people seek satisfaction from the wrong sources. This explains why sometimes you find people who used to walk with God going to the wrong places. They feel that they have failed God and begin to warm themselves by the devil’s fireside.
You have not failed God. God is not angry with you. He knows your weaknesses and in His infinite wisdom He chose to call you in spite of who you are. And if He called you in spite of who you are, He can also accomplish what He purposed with you. Believe it! Peter came back and became the head of the apostles. You’ll come back! You’ll fulfill your calling. You’ll fulfill purpose.
Get up from the devil’s fireside and get in the fire of the Spirit. Stop seeking satisfaction from the wrong places. Cease from your labour and efforts to please God. Rely on the Holy Ghost. And believe that you are who God says you are. Glory!
Prayer:
Dear Father I thank you that you made me for your glory. Am full of goodness. I’m who you say I am. I live in victory everyday. All things work for my good. Am blessed pleasing you in all things. Thank you Love. Glory!
